With the recent spout of hacks that seem to be doing the rounds on infinity, backing up your save data has become even more important. I hope this isn't against any rules so here goes...

I spent the last few hours creating this little backup utility which should run on your 6.37 PSP's.

You shouldn't need any CFW to run this but I have only tested it on OFW 6.35. All this does is give you a selection screen to either backup your save or restore it from the backup, simple stuff! It just saves you needing to get to your PC to do a backup and is a whole lot less tiresome.

Just extract the zip file to the root of your memory stick.

Download v0.2 (ANY FW Non Go)
Download v0.2 (CFW ONLY)

Download v0.2 (ANY FW Go)
Download v0.2 (CFW Go ONLY)

v0.2 added, works with any known version of PSP2 and a special version for Go users. Reports on the Go version would be good ;)

Judging by this post and the page linked to a topic from PSO-World... This is only occurring in PSP2i online right?

Cause if this is somehow occurring in PSP2 online... Then somehow I definitely need to start making extra saves of mine.

I don't need to worry about my PSP2i... I don't play online on it lol.

It's not just Infinity online. It seems to be mostly just PSPo2 vanilla online actually. The level 0 hack is a game breaker if you accidently save after it happens to you. At level 0 you can't equip weapons or anything (which prevents leveling). Though, I'm unsure about traps.

The level 0 is a total breaker. I tried to fix someones save file using hacks and I couldn't get it done then I made this tool to help counteract it.

Nothing has changed since PSO v.1

Not entirely. I'd still back up your characters regularly if you play online with random unknown people. Otherwise just stick to groups of people that you know.

The concept of people hacking (whether maliciously or just for the lulz) in online PSO/U/Z/P2(i) and the people complaining "I'm legit. They ruin everyone's fun. I can't understand why they do that" has been around since PSO v.1

Good job, funkyskunk, works well (tested on a PSPGo with OFW).

I backup regularly, just in case, and stick to playing with people I know most of the time.

Ahh, well... I'm not really sure if I should worry about it 100%... Because whenever I play online. (Which 5% nowadays...) I always host the party myself. I tend to not join others cause they either have low connection or might be hackers that might be using Max Drop or EXP Multiplier...

But I still back-up my data on numerous occasions when I get the chance. But since I don't play much anymore. I don't tend to think about it.

Ahh excellent, a confirmed Go user at last! I saw a few people had grabbed the Go version but you are the only person to confirm it actually works. Thanks ;)
