Yeah. Might be a nice idea to keep a sticky of the latest update, guess you can try out that custom bbcode as well, heh.

Yup; I used it to link a few things in the post. Also, good idea on sticky-ing it. I'll go ahead and do that.

EDIT: Maybe not. I'm not seeing a sticky option. o:

Damn permissions weren't set to allow you to post stickies/announcements. That's been changed now, all PSUPedia staff should be able to do this.

I stickied your topic, anyway, and it worked for me, so I guess it'll work for you too.

Cool, thanks! Just checked the little drop-down menu at the bottom of the page, and now it's got sticky and some other new options added to it, so I'm good to go.

Well that about makes it official. We're using British English and anyone that doesn't add in the 'u's is going to get Nazi trolled.

So correct me if I'm wrong but would this essentially play out as the 'new' Raffon Field Base? I'm all for talk pages, but it seems a lot of that one in particular might be rerouted here (whether it's intended or not). I guess I have this sorta fear of unneeded redundancy.

Yeah, the individual talk pages still serve their use, but this would be quite similar in function to what the Raffon Base was before. If this place will turn out what it's intended to be this might well mean it will in fact take over its function (although the page could still be left there for foraphobics or the like). I sympathize with your disapproval of redundancy (although theoretically people were already able to do anything with the existing sites -- so this seems more like for wikiphobics and open discussions that had no home or something I suppose).

People should be able to use any spelling preferences they like (other than leet), since noone's going to have much trouble reading a word with or without the extra 'u' I hope. The game itself uses both American and British English actually (I only found out about that when looking at the language file references, lolz), and ofcourse American should be preferable in the context of in-game spelling, but I believe we've got quite some European representation over here as well (I actually use a selective mix of the two), so people should expect seeing both pop up.

Am I just missing it, or is there not an option to set how many posts per page a topic will display?

Oh, that was merely a joke about our wealth of language options for the forum. Nothing that applies to PSUP in particular. Although I guess that could be thought of as a general concern, I don't imagine that if it hasn't been an issue up until now that it would be in the future.

Edit: I think on this board the admins might be the ones that set the number of posts for each page. I noticed myself that there seem to be quite a few already. The option should be under 'Configuration' under 'General Admin'.

I think I might have put it to 100 a page already. >_>
What options do you want?

Fifteen would be good for me. :)

Couldn't find anything about multiple options anymore (huh, was that MyBB?). Anyway, put it to 30 for now. >_<;;

Greetings
Nice forum and progress.

Since I had a day of free time off work i thought i would pull out my old tools and redo the logo for fun and contribution. Used to do graphics and UI design back in college and thought the top banners background will blend in better with white bg. with a slightly upgraded logo of what Mewn created.

and for fun in other flavors for each season perhaps .. i dunno.

Just an idea but seeing how everything is well managed already, I'm prepared for the rejections lol.

Cheers

I know I'm just being ridiculous here, but when you mention you think it'd be better with a white background (I'm thinking you meant for the image itself), I sure hope you didn't mean it like this:
Image
I'm thinking it might be good to move the logo slightly to the right, but I'd still need to bother figuring out how to do it (and receive approval from others and stuff).

hehe no of course not, but what i meant was that table holding the banner as white BG overwriting the blue tiled background yous are currently using, the images i made have a transparency bg in png format so it will show whichever bg you use (even if you used it it won't look like that sample above it will flow smoothly with the blue BG). I guess its just a matter of the forum admin to play around with the css or which ever language this forum uses for custom themes.

Of course this is beneficial to the text you put in that table as well since black show up best on white 'The PSUPedia forums PSUPf - where we test our new forums'

Ah, yeah, that looks a lot better already.
Seems like this is responsible for the blue.
So, you wanna see that blank with the other logo?

@Espio about sticky-ing: Go here, mark thread, 'Select desired action' -> 'Change to "Sticky"'.

I like the logo, but is the large "P" of "PSU" just for random aesthetics? As the "pedia" bit still keeps its P, it looks a little strange to me.

Actually I just tried to give it alittle PSU inspired design, the Font was my attempt to replicate the games logo. Giving it the PSU touch, yet it didn't turn out exactly the same lol. Took me a while to figure out where i seen the original logo in the game lol nice job producing it whoever it was hehe.

Anyway I'm away from home now and can no longer do anymore edits without my desktop computer with me. The images is yours to exploit or alter in anyway yous wish.

Heh, the "it might be like the PuniverseR logo" thought occurred to me just as I was scrolling down to see the new posts.

Speaking of which, does this place still need the "Mark all topics/forums read" option?

No, it's on the forum index, below the bottom forum ("Mark forums read").

Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Ah, but I can see no similar option when in each individual board.

Author:  Qwerty [ Thu Jun 12, 2008 10:40 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Top right corner of each forum: "Mark topics read".

How'd that get there?

Man, and I looked everywhere for that, too. Regular users have no chance.

We could have fun with an animated logo.

Though, if so, it'd take some time.

Author:  Natasha_Milarose [ Sat Jun 14, 2008 8:11 am ]
Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

I thought of that too Zerode, however if i were to animate that logo its most likly done in flash or gif.
However Gif tends to loose image quality in that way or take up more loading time due to size and flash well... not sure if all users have that installed on whichever browser their using lol (i know most).
The one i designed is actually slightly smaller in file size, thus faster page loading for those on dailup.

So does everyone like the logo or nada?

Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Logo is good as-is. As you pointed out in flash some people wouldn't be able to see it (me), and gif isn't the best.

So I'm all for that logo everyone quoted earlier in the thread.

Sorry I was lazy.
Like this (Phoenix Blue)? Bigger image? Shorter header? Copy logo to the other styles?

Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Wootness! well its up to you if you like it - when i designed it, it was made for the actual wiki site you know the little corner it would sit in lol. I guess im flattered by the acceptance (its a big deal for a designer you now lol)

The banner in the forum can always be tweaked, try it on psupedia and see :P
I'll be on and off to check it out while im actually on playing psu now.
hmm what mission to do....

Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Well.. for a wiki logo the dimensions seem way off (as in, should be vertical and bigger). As a forum logo it seems more suitable, except that it seems.. twice as small as forum logos normally would be.

Author:  Natasha_Milarose [ Sat Jun 14, 2008 11:36 am ]
Post subject:  Re: To-do list...

Ahh in that case heres some alterations for 135x135 dimensions had i known wiki logos that strictly that size.
