After beating the story, Hard mode is unlocked and can be selected when you choose a field to go to or a quest to play. One of the subquests added takes you to a new (non-story related) area, called Eternal Tower, which is a survival-esque tower where you fight one monster spawn per floor. The monsters come from the other levels of the game.

No idea if it's endless but a friend mentions that it has at least 50 floors.

So that makes a total of 8 completely different fields, correct? Also, are their day and night variations in the levels? I remember seeing the Snow level in both day and night.

Levels have different variations, which are quite striking in the later levels (especially the last story level, where the entire place is essentially inverted halfway through). Haven't seen any day/night variations yet though.

And yeah, 8 levels including Eternal Tower.

For those who finished it completely (already), like Raujinn. How many hours of gameplay?

Completing the story (on normal) doesn't take long at all, although I wasn't counting the hours.

Supposedly levelling a character to 100 takes 300 hours, but it's probably less than that unless level 99 to 100 requires a million exp or something daft.

To verify, I finished Eternal Tower on Hard. So to unlock Super-Hard I'm guessing I have to do all the other missions on hard as well?

And like mewn said completing story mode doesn't take too long, no. You won't likely be on normal for longer than a couple of days, anyway. Depends on your class, as I wonder if some will find the bosses more difficult than others, not sure on that.

Yeah, to unlock Super Hard offline you have to do every quest on Hard.

Not that it applies to you, but just to get it out there: unlocking Super Hard online is achieved simply by hitting level 60.

Online as in, multiplayer mode over wifi or something? Or did I miss something? What's the difference between "online" and offline?

Online = Wi-Fi
Offline = Story Mode

I finished all quests & the story mode on normal in about 20 hours as a HUnewmn.
I'm sitting at 25 hours and lv.45, so I don't believe that 300 hours to get to 100 stuff either

Hardest boss for me has been the freakin' octopus, mainly because lock-on and hit detection is so shoddy on his tentacles

Like a lot of the online PS games, that really depends on what you expect out of the game... what your ultimate goals are.

If you're a dedicated rare hunter, I can see there being a lot of replay value in the game. 350 weapons might not sound like all that much but there's a surprising amount to hunt.

If you like achievements there's plenty of those to get too.
