Pulled from the official forum. RubyEclipse is the one explaining the game. I guess they did this at that Sega press event that was recently held in New York.

RAYMAR

Am I the only one who always thought of it as Rah-mar?

Also, Ruby was born to do PR.

Well I guess it makes sense because it's supposed to be RAnger, but I've always said Rah-mar, too.

..and now that I think of it, I've pronounced HU as in HUman instead of HUnter

As have I. Except I did typically type it as HUmer.

Probably supposed to be Rah- and Hugh- anyway, since the alternatives would be spelt differently in katakana (although I don't know what the katakana for the PSO names were, so I may be wrong).

I always pronounced it Rah and Hyu.

The katakana is REI (Ray) and HYU, though.

PS: This info on the proper pronunciation was brought to you by yours truly, me, moi, Mewn. Wink wink wink.

One oddity I'll throw in here is that in Japanese, the "HU" in HUnewearl is pronounced more like the "hu" in hunter. Despite this, I still pronounce it as "Hugh."
