I haven't seen a question like this asked so I'm asking it. How is data such as drop charts obtained? Is this a matter of getting into the code of the game? I am also specifically referring to PSP2. I'd like to contribute to the wiki but would only be able to contribute data I can obtain situationally within the game, not actual game mechanic formulas, etc.

Is there a trick or are you people really that awesome!? :)

The majority of our drop chart data came from the PSP2 Perfect Bible, a Japanese strategy guide for the game. However, we're having to manually discover and log the drop changes that were made for the EN version of the game. From what's been gathered so far, weapons which were available in the JP version exclusively through DLC missions were added to random enemy drop charts since those missions aren't (officially) available in the EN release. I actually just started up an article on this on the wiki. It's still in the early phases, but we'll be adding more info to it over time.

The people who are good enough to find data from the data files are too busy destroying the franchise in the west.

PS: don't tell Clumsy but occasionally there's a few things added to PSUPedia that come from data mining. And then Clumsy use those cool pages, becoming a cheater himself. Isn't that awesome.

Thanks! Well, if and when a PSP2 US guide comes out I'll be getting one! I dunno why I didn't think of a guide!
